A 56-year-old man arrested for allegedly killing his 32-year-old live-in partner, chopping up her remains and boiling them in a cooker pressure in Mira Road, Thane has been remanded to police custody till June 16.
Manoj Sane, 56, was arrested on June 7 for allegedly killing his live-in partner of three-years Saraswati Vaidya, 36. They lived in an apartment on the seventh floor of a residential building in Geeta Nagar.
The police got to know after the neighbours complained about an odour. A police official said, “Manoj chopped Saraswati’s body into 20 peices, boiled them and put them into plastic bags.”
They met in 2014 at a ration shop owned by Mr Sane. The couple arrived at the flat three years ago and would not speak to neighbours, sources said. There was no name plate on their door and a police officer said there wasn’t much furniture. They were staying in Borivali. earlier
Sane was arrested under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.
